I. Primary Purpose

Fanatics seeks to expand our reach into fandom by adding a wide range of new products to our assortment in Music and Entertainment. As a Buyer/Sr. Buyer, you will be responsible for driving the top and bottom line of the P&L with responsibility for buying, vendor relationships, internal partnership with operations and marketing teams.  This role will play a critical role in building a new division, highly cross-functional, and will require a person who has an entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit. 

II. Key Responsibilities

•Drive all facets of product assortment, financial planning, and vendor partnerships to support the goals of your division.
•Partner and negotiate with vendors relative to product cost, terms and issues
•Develop merchandise strategy based on historical data, competitive shopping analysis, industry trends and forecasts.   
•Partner closely with Planning to determine and manage financial plans, projections, and maintain open-to-buy.
•Develop strong cross functional partnerships to launch a new category on our websites and in our channels to ensure appropriate customer acquisition process and to reach new customers.

III. Position Requirements

•Passion for music, entertainment, sports
•Independent thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset -  the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
•3+ years of experience as a Buyer
•Curious about complex issues or opportunities – ability to view things in new ways or from a different perspective
•Ability to offer solutions to challenges and utilize retail math skills to analyze and drive business
•Able to independently organize and prioritize broad workload to meet deadlines
•Ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external partners
•Result-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
•Strong written communication skills
•Outstanding verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across the organizations
•Exhibits high standards and accountability; takes pride in accuracy
•Readily grasps numerical concepts and interprets financial information accurately
•Strong computer skills (intermediate Excel skills necessary)
