Generation USA - Credit Union Member Service Specialist Instructor

Primarily Remote (based in Jacksonville, FL or surrounding areas), $25/hr, Up to 40hrs/wk


Generation is a nonprofit that transforms education to employment systems to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible. The global pandemic has led to an unprecedented surge in unemployment. Even before the pandemic, more than 75 million young adults were out of work globally, and three times as many were underemployed---and 375 million workers of all ages needed to learn new skills by 2030. At the same time, certain jobs remain in high-demand, and 40 percent of employers say a skills shortage leaves them with entry-level vacancies. To date, more than 50,000 people have graduated from Generation programs, which prepare them for meaningful careers in 16 countries. Generation works with more than 3,900 employer partners and many implementation partners and funders.

We are seeking talented instructors interested in working in a temporary full-time role to teach and support program operations for our Generation based Credit Union Member Services Specialist program. Pay for the role is $25/hour.


You are an ideal candidate if you are knowledgeable about trends in the credit union and financial services industry and are able to share your own personal insight with students.

You love to inspire diverse groups of learners and genuinely want to help individuals develop the mindsets, and acquire the technical and behavioral skills that will make them valuable employees in credit unions across Florida.

You are adaptable, empathetic and have a passion for supporting young to mid-career people in their pursuit new career opportunities


50% Instruction

  • Deliver engaging online synchronous modules to a diverse group of learners and guiding them in additional independent study.

  • Host live video conferences for approximately 25 learners

  • Deliver all technical, behavioral, mindset, and employment essential lessons.

  • Administer, grade, and provide feedback on weekly assessments.

  • Support Generation's data-driven model by tracking and inputting (in Salesforce/ Canvas) participant attendance and performance in class and on assessments.

  • Bring the learning experience to life, building community and enhance relevance by drawing on your own industry experience.

  • Provide relevant, timely feedback to students on formative and summative assessment and on student projects.

  • Explain complex topics in a non-technical way.

  • Be available to instruct, host office hours, and grade student work from 9a -5p ET, Monday-Friday

  • Engage in Generation sponsored professional development and trainings


50% Program Operations

(in between active cohorts)

  • Support program team in identifying placement opportunities

  • Support learner support team in career sourcing, readiness initiatives

  • (resume and cover letter development)

  • Support the identification of support services and make referrals as needed

  • Conduct site visits to local internship sites

  • Collect and enter participant data into CSNEFL data tracking system

  • Update participant data weekly

  • And other duties as needed or assigned


  • At least 2 years industry experience working in credit unions and/or financial services

  • At least 2 years teaching/facilitation experience preferred; experience with digital/e-learning preferred

  • Experience teaching or mentoring adults and/or extensive knowledge of current trends and issues in adult education

  • Ability to comfortably navigate new technologies (e.g., Slack, Canvas, Zoom)

  • High level of comfort about communicating to large and small groups of people and have a desire to coach and guide learners in an empathetic manner.

  • Ability to collect and analyze participant data that will influence participant interactions

  • Self-reflective and open to frequent feedback from participants and program team

  • Must reside in Jacksonville, FL or nearby area (primarily remote)
